Acceptable Usage Policy

By using our services, you agree to comply with our Acceptable Usage Policy.

URLStart Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs your use of URLStart’s services. Violations of this policy may result in suspension or termination of services. In case of disputes, URLStart’s interpretation, based on its reasonable commercial judgment, shall prevail.

Purpose of the AUP

This AUP applies to all personal and corporate accounts hosted by URLStart. As a provider of cloud hosting services, we expect all users to follow ethical and legal guidelines while using our servers. URLStart reserves the right to suspend or terminate services if an account is misused or if it negatively impacts server performance or violates regulations.

Service Usage

URLStart’s hosting plans are designed to support small businesses and organizations. In a shared hosting environment, users must ensure their website does not degrade server performance for other customers. We monitor our servers 24/7 to ensure balanced performance, and any misuse that affects the server community may result in action, including suspension.

Content Restrictions

Users must not publish or transmit content that includes:

  • Child pornography or obscene material
  • Excessive violence, threats, harassment, or hate speech
  • Deceptive practices, such as chain letters or pyramid schemes
  • Defamatory content or violations of privacy
  • Content that jeopardizes safety, public health, or national security
  • Intellectual property violations or sensitive personal data
  • Promotion of illegal activities, including drug trafficking or illegal gambling
  • Content that could harm other users, the server, or URLStart’s reputation

We prohibit services like proxy usage, illegal gambling, warez, and pyramid schemes. Violations may result in service termination without a refund.

Data Storage and Backups

URLStart services are intended solely for hosting websites. Using accounts for backup, storage, or archiving data is prohibited.

Security Obligations

Users must implement reasonable security practices, including safeguarding passwords. While URLStart provides technical security to prevent unauthorized access, we are not responsible for data breaches caused by weak user practices.

Bulk and Unsolicited Email

Bulk commercial email is permitted up to 500 emails per hour per account. Recipients must opt in to receive emails, and users must comply with anti-spam regulations such as the CAN-SPAM Act. URLStart does not tolerate unsolicited emails (spam), and violations may lead to service termination.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Users may not publish or distribute copyrighted work without explicit permission from the copyright holder, unless otherwise allowed by law. URLStart will terminate services for repeat copyright infringement.

Network Abuse and Prohibited Activities

Users are prohibited from engaging in activities such as:

  • Unauthorized system access or network probing
  • Interfering with network services or attempting to overload systems
  • Using compromised accounts, password theft, or port scanning
  • Forging headers or conducting TCP/IP-based attacks

Any misuse of the URLStart network will result in suspension or termination of services.

Forums and Newsgroups

When participating in forums, chat rooms, IRC, USENET groups, or bulletin boards, users must follow the rules and guidelines of each platform. Off-topic commercial content or mass postings in multiple forums are strictly prohibited.

Liability Disclaimer

URLStart is not obligated to monitor customer activities but reserves the right to take action against any misuse. We disclaim responsibility for internet abuse or misuse of our network.
